Welcome to Nutrient Cures

Nutrients are required for all organs and body function. Deficiency has quietly become the norm but is easily reversed.

Nutrient Deficiency Is Causing A Modern Health Breakdown.  I Experienced It.

I had many health problems but never saw any connection between them or a way to get to the root of the problem until I discovered that vitamins and minerals helped when nothing else did. I found out I had nutrient deficiencies though I ate a balanced diet. It turns out the majority of Americans have nutrient deficiencies now but we just don’t know it!

Nutrient deficiencies cause or contribute to: heart disease, the number one killer in the U.S., diabetes, high blood pressure and dozens of forms of inflammation as well as depression, PTSD, and sleep disorders. These are the most common health problems we have and they have a very common cause. Deficiencies of vital nutrients like magnesium, potassium and Vitamin D are necessary for life. A single mineral like magnesium or zinc has 200-300 functions in the human body and is required by every organ. Without it, we die. With an undiagnosed deficiency, we suffer needlessly.

After doctors told me I had to take drugs with potentially deadly side effects for auto-immune disease, I knew I had to find a better solution. I did not believe that was the only option. I am very glad I perservered though it was extremely difficult and took years to find solutions. I was scared I would lose my job and I almost became crippled. It was depressing and expensive trying doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, naturopathic doctors and endless tests and supplements. I tried Chinese herbal medicines, western herbal medicines, conventional treatments like Prednisone and many other things along the way. Supplementing with vitamins and minerals is the only treatment that truly works for me. Upon closer inspection it turns out I had nutrient deficiencies.

You might think eating lots of healthy food can give you all the vitamins and minerals you need. I thought this too! I was so wrong! Nutrient deficiency can be caused by genetic mutation that we have no control over. They can be caused by industrial agriculture practices that are depleting the soil and resulting in crops today having only a fraction of the nutrients as those a generation ago. They can be caused by many factors as simple as the body needing more nutrients when it is under stress. It can be caused by disease that disrupts the absorption of nutrients in the digestive system. There are so many causes, we may never know exactly which ones are to blame in each case. We can treat it though! I am not a doctor but I can tell you what worked for me and works for so many others!

I Want to Share What I Have Learned and Help Others Who Are Suffering!

I know the desperation of feeling helpless while your body falls apart and becomes weak. If you can’t even stand for long or walk very far or climb stairs or lift things, you start to feel very scared. How can you keep your job, how can you get around and take care of yourself. How can you have a normal life, have kids or have a home when you are still young and your body is broken? It is a horrible feeling to have these severe problems and not even have a clear diagnosis or be told there is no cure.

I have spent years learning all I can to heal myself and have been able to help others along the way with what I have learned. I get questions often now as people have come to respect my advice and results.

If I can help others with chronic illness find a way to get fast relief and heal themselves naturally and effectivly, I will feel like these years have been worth it and this is my calling.

I also hate to see so many millions of people suffering with chronic and deadly diseases. It seems everyone gets cancer or heart disease. It is tragic and it is unnessesary. There are easy, accessible, affordable and safe treatments available. We just don’t know where to look.

Site Goal: Shed Light on Common Diseases and the Nutrients To Treat Them

My goal for Nutrient Cures is to shed light on the common diseases surrounding us and provide advice on treating them with vitamins, minerals and other basic supplements. I am not a doctor and do not offer any medical advice. Please find a Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.) or open minded medical doctor (M.D.) to assist you with your diagnosis and treatment before starting any supplement.

Please feel free to leave a comment or question below! I would love to hear from you.

I wish you abundant health,

Hi Jessica! I am so glad I found your site! I, too, have also suffered so much in the last few years from illnesses which have left me feeling extremely drained and depleted. I’m sure a lot of it has to do with the amount of medication that the doctors prescribed, which I probably shouldn’t have taken. I think that many medications make you feel worse, instead of better; not to mention the bad side effects they can cause later on down the road. I do take some nutrient supplements and vitamins, but I’m probably not taking the ones I need to be taking to get the most optimal health I can get.

I look forward to reading more of your insights into what nutrients are the best for different illnesses! Also, thank you for your advice on finding a Naturopathic Doctor. I need to look into this:) Can’t wait to read more as you post!

      Hi Suzi,

I was so lucky to stumble upon the Naturopathic Doctors when I did. I went to one who helped me figure out I had adrenal fatigue and gave me a supplement which fixed the night sweats and low back pain associated with that. Who knew low back pain could be due to problems with your adrenal gland!! It was the most amazing thing. I took the pills and my back pain was gone after years! It turns out the adrenal gland is located near the lower back and can cause this. I had no idea.

After working with her to identify serious food sensitivities/allergies and other issues she referred me to one of her colleagues. He was able to determine I had the active form of the Epstein Barr virus. This is the virus that causes Mono and it is extremely common but most people are carriers with no symptoms. I have the active form which causes fatigue when it is active and terrible headaches at the top of my head. It lies dormant in the body until we are weakened by other disease and then strikes. I have to be careful if I get extremely run down since it can activate again.

He also determined that the Epstein Barr could cause the thyroid tumors I had and therefore I was able to skip getting my thyroid removed!

Naturopathic Doctors are licensed in 16 U.S. states and are covered by insurance in those states. I am lucky to live in one of those states so I can go to them just the same as any other doctor. I am not sure how it works in other countries.

I am excited to share what I have learned and continue to learn!
Thank you so much for your interest,

Hi Jessica. I believe your site will be very helpful to many people . I really believe that power that is within us and complementary medicine can do not less and very often, more than the traditional medicine can. We should be wise and listen to our bodies and help them eating right and exercising and taking necessary supplements and vitamins.

Thank you Vera. I had to figure out for myself what was wrong after I got set on the right path. I got much help at the beginning but after years of struggling I am finally finding real solutions! It is so exciting to finally have some logical causes for my problems and a way to fix them!

      Thank you for your support,

There’s lots of very enlightening information here, Jessica, about how people can find natural solutions for their own health and wellbeing. Natural beats over the counter medication every time IMHO. I’ll be following you with interest 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Rich! I agree and I hope you find lots of good information here in the future!

  4. Isaya

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about these nutritional alternatives to medicine. I agree with you that proper nutrition can prevent and help cure/manage many of our modern illnesses today. The fact that we just take one drug after another is depressing in of itself.

My grandmother is suffering from several conditions, mainly arthritis which hinders her from doing many things she used to.
Would you recommend anything to help loosen joints, or help prevent pain in the muscles?

Anything you might be able to pass on would be much appreciated!

    1. Jessica (Post author)

      Hello Isaya,

Could you tell me if she has rheumatoid or osteoarthritis? Osteo is where the joints themselves get deformed so it affects the bone directly. It often comes from loss of cartilage and therefore loss of cushioning in the joint. Rheumatoid is where there is inflammation of the tissue around the joint. It often results in hot, swollen joints. Over time it can damage the bone as well but it is caused from inflammation to start with. I don’t know a whole lot about arthritis but I thought I had rheumatoid or another form related to inflammation for many years. Now I know I probably don’t but I still have joint pain and problems due to auto-immune disease. Rheumatoid arthritis can be linked to auto-immune disease since it causes the body to attack itself.

      Thanks for your comments,

    Good afternoon Jessica,

Reading about your struggles with health over so many years makes me upset. People who have an apparent good health often do not value it until it is too late.
In your story, you tell you tried out about everything under the sun trying to find the right cure for yourself. A difficult path of trial and error but also a positive path as one can learn so much on the way.
To be afraid one can lose ones job adds an extra burden. It causes extra stress which again is so unhealthy. A really difficult situation to come out from.
The foods we eat today do not have the same nutritional value as like 50 years ago. It is our fault as crops are genetically modified, grown in depleted soil and sprayed with all kind of nasty pesticides. If one is so lucky the best would be to grow your own food or at least be able to buy organic.
With the wealth of information you have collected over the years it is so laudable to make a website to help other people. You have my respect.
    Regards, Taetske

Thank you very much Taetske. In my post, I address the many common causes of nutrient deficiency such as soil depletion. It is amazing how many millions of people are suffering from these effects without even knowing the cause. I want to be part of the solution and get this information out for all to see. As an individual I have no big business to be threatened by the drug companies or the Food and Drug Administration here in the U.S. I am just an individual giving my opinion so I hope that can help fight the massive influence of those that would tell us we simply need to take more and more pharmaceuticals without end. I am in the midst of another health problem now and learning about the circulatory system which is an area I knew nothing about. I am learning about natural plants that strengthen and support circulation and therefore can treat edema and conditions like Reynaud’s Disease and erythromalalgia. I hope to be adding many posts about topics ranging from Zinc and potassium to specific health conditions and natural, plant based hormone replacement.

Thank you very much for your support and your comments!
